Sterling Chemicals has positioned its support lab within the Nanotechnology Research Centre at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. This facilitates direct access to research groups at the university with specific expertise in areas such as corrosion and EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery). Approximately 5% of Sterling Chemicals’ gross profit is reinvested into R&D. Relationships and proximity within the Nanotechnology Research Centre and U of A allow Sterling Chemicals to significantly stretch this reinvestment due to access to a wide range of research-grade instrumentation and expertise without the typically associated capital outlay. Sterling Chemicals actively pursues joint R&D work with research groups at the U of A, leveraging available government grants and tax breaks supporting Canadian R&D.
Sterling Chemicals is committed to continuously improving products and service offerings while tailoring these to specific customer needs and proactively developing products to improve performance.
